Link swaps – not what they used to be

Hmmmm…. It might be time to change your search engine marketing plans. I’ve just read an interesting article about some changes to the way Google handles reciprocal links.

It turns out that all that time you have spent writing to relevant sites asking for a 2 way link swap may have been wasted as Google now marks you down if you have links going both ways, because it realises that these links have been manufactured purely for the benefit of SE rankings and therefore presumes that your content must be rubbish.
